Letting Go Of The Past & The Power of Choice

let go of the pastEvery person that walks this earth has pain in their past of some sort. Letting go of the past and all that pain can be incredibly liberating, freeing, and life- affirming. Today we will talk about how to let go of the past using the Power of Choice.

Do you feel anxious, depressed, disgruntled, low, and don’t know why? Do you ever blame those in your current environment who perhaps have done nothing seriously damaging to you? Do you build a case in your head against others out of minor slights or thoughtless acts? Think about it.

What is really wrong could very well be the result of, and directly traceable to your own early family environment. Think about it...

Feelings experienced in the distant past can be triggered by slightly similar events occurring in the present. When these old feelings arise as a direct response to a current happening, do you question their intensity or validity?

You should.

Why are these feelings so strong? It’s possible that at the core of these unhealed feelings and past hurts are buried. These past hurts were denied, stifled, covered up, and ignored for important reasons then.

Now, and this is NOW, there is CHOICE.

Choose to investigate the core. Choose to share those hurts with trusted friends, a clergy person, or a qualified therapist.

Heal the core, and you diminish the pain.

Begin with a topic below, and choose to discover the the core of hurt from your past, early environment:

Stress-related illness–when did it first begin? What was

happening in your life at the time?
What healthy choices are you making regarding this today?

I have been working on pretty much all theses areas in my life, and it is so freeing.

You don’t have to accept just feeling anxious, down, depressed or gloomy all the time. You can exercise your power of choice and choose to investigate the cause, and then make it better.

Understanding where your problems come from brings greater freedom of choice, which can introduce healthy change. Bring the power of positive change into your present life. Practice this choice. Choice is a power.

I wish you peace,
