It’s essential to use positive affirmations before going into a situation where you know your anxiety will be triggered. Repeat the affirmations to yourself either quietly or out loud several times. When I worked in the hospital (I worked 12 hour shifts- feeling “stuck” there for so long was an anxiety trigger every day). I would turn off the radio on my commute in to work and repeat my affirmations over and over again to myself. By the time I walked into my unit, I was calm and ready to start my day
